Many students had never sewn before, and the joy on their faces as they learned machine safety, stitched their first seams, and helped one another troubleshoot was incredible to see.\r\n\r\nNext, students will use these skills to design and create tote bags for a community outreach project, showing them how STEM learning can be creative, purposeful, and impactful. The students who have differing abilities or special needs love the added calmness and inclusivity of the classroom now. The tennis balls have really made a difference in the overall loudness of the classroom, which allows students to move freely around the classroom without causing much of a distraction to others.\r\n\r\nThey were surprised to see the new items and put them to use. They also had many questions about where the items come from and how they would be used. They also started throwing out ideas of what else I could use the materials for that I hadn't even thought of. The children were overall very excited about the new materials.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your contribution to our classroom.
