Keeping said classroom clean and organized ensures students can stay focused and engaged during our lessons. If you have been a classroom or worked on projects with a lot of supplies, you know how challenging it can be to keep materials picked up. \r\n\r\nIn order to make the most of our spaces, we were able to change up the way the Iris drawer organizers were put together. Some of them were put on our 3D printer carts to hold filament, vacuum seal bags, and associated 3D printing tools. While others were tucked under cabinets to organize our paint, brushes, and hot glue guns. We paired these organizers with some of our other clear containers to keep these materials together and in easy to access places for students to use. The Sooez plastic pencils cases are a great multipurpose item! They have been used to hold extra white board markers, big erasers, pencils, and sets of task cards. With easy to read labels, students can find all of the supplies they're looking for very easily. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for investing in my students' success by donating to our classroom projects! We have had a couple different projects for our beloved beardie to help ensure his tank had all the right conditions and we are finally there! With a recent growth spurt, he was quickly out growing his current tank so this project focused on getting us the supplies to create his forever habitat. \r\n\r\nThe New Age EcoFlex tank hits the recommended size requirements for an adult bearded dragon. The overall design allows for easy access both for viewing and handling Spyro as needed! He already loves soaking in the heat on his Zen Cave basking platform and it's the perfect height for watching students. During his last weigh and measure session, we filled up the XL corner water bowl and let him have a good soak. Since adding it to the new enclosure, he's been splashing even more! \r\n\r\nAll of the students have been watching and helping as much as they can to get things ready. They were all very excited to see the new set up once it was finished. Some have suggested adding his hammock once he settles in, so I'm sure that will be put back in soon. If Spyro could talk I'm sure he'd tell You how much he loves this new setup too! Since he cannot, we will have to settle for his famous side eye looks! Your generosity makes such a meaningful impact on both my students and the learning environment we create every day. With this project, we are able to make sure all of Spyro's lighting and heating needs are consistently met. This provides him a safe and comfortable habitat that best mimics his natural environment as much as possible.\r\n\r\nOne of the upgrades I am most excited about is enhancing Spyro's tank with actual Australian desert sand. This addition will help create the arid, sandy terrain of his natural habitat in his tank, giving him a more enriching environment to explore. The students have already loved observing his behavior as he interacts with this new substrate. It gives them a better look into the natural habits and habitats of bearded dragons. These hands-on observations will deepen their understanding of ecosystems, adaptations, and the responsibilities involved in caring for a living creature.\r\n\r\nIn addition to Spyro's tank upgrades, we are making improvements to our Dubia roach breeding enclosure. By equipping it with a better-screened lid and improved heating, we can create the ideal conditions for breeding. These upgrades will help ensure a sustainable food source for Spyro while also providing a real-world example of ecosystems, resource management, and the interconnectedness of living organisms. Some of the students are fascinated by the breeding process and enjoy monitoring and caring for the roaches—a unique and educational experience that ties directly into our science curriculum.\r\n\r\nOur classroom truly shines because of the amazing students who bring curiosity and energy to learning every day. However, the supportive community behind us, including incredible donors like you, is what makes so many of these opportunities possible. Thank you for helping us create a space where science comes alive and students are inspired to explore, question, and grow. Several kids were particularly excited about the slim-jims!\r\n\r\nWe have seen an increase in decorated iPad cases, notebooks, and binders with the new sticker packs too.
