The Math for Love games—especially Tiny Polka Dot and Roly Poly—have transformed how our youngest learners build number sense, flexibility, and confidence in math.\r\nThese games are hands-on, engaging, and versatile, supporting countless objectives throughout the year. Students aren't just learning numbers—they're exploring them, comparing them, and connecting mathematical ideas through play, movement, and laughter.\r\nOur teachers have seen this firsthand:\r\nMegan Madlem, Kindergarten Teacher:\r\n\"My students loved playing the Math for Love games! The entire time we played, they were engaged in age-appropriate activities with giant smiles on their faces! I love how many different ways there are to play so we can play it again and again but have different learning targets and skills we are working on. I look forward to using it over and over this year.\"\r\nHolly Paul, Kindergarten Teacher:\r\n\"Students have loved playing Tiny Polka Dot during math rotations with our instructional assistant. They are actively engaged and so excited when they get to play it during the fluency and review station. It has been great in helping them build number sense.\"\r\nEileen Walsh, Kindergarten Teacher:\r\n\"Students love all the games they can play with Tiny Polka Dot. Their favorite is the matching game. The Roly Poly game has given them an opportunity to practice their number sense with a movement connection. It warms my heart hearing them giggle and get excited with what action comes next as they practice something as routine as number sense!\"\r\nThe impact doesn't stop at kindergarten.\r\nFirst grade teachers are using the same games to introduce addition and subtraction within 5 and 10, problem solving, comparing numbers, and exploring mathematical structures.\r\nGrades 2–5 have begun using Addition by Heart and Multiplication by Heart to deepen conceptual understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.\r\nEven grades 4 and 5 have borrowed the Addition by Heart sets to support students who need continued practice with foundational facts—showing how versatile and valuable these tools truly are.\r\nBecause of your support, teachers now have a \"ready-made\" math station perfectly aligned with our new curriculum maps and our CRA instructional framework. Students are not just memorizing numbers—they are understanding them, playing with them, and finding joy in the process.\r\nYour generosity has impacted hundreds of students and provided meaningful resources that empower teachers and enrich classrooms across K–5. From every teacher, student, and family at North Grove Elementary, we sincerely thank you for believing in our mission and investing in our students' growth and love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1751981272147,"projectUrl":"project/play-practice-progress-math-games-fo/9449692/","projectTitle":"“Play, Practice, Progress: Math Games for Conceptual Growth”","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. LaFavers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7348384_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751931236165","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7348384"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_19809","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":685,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":43,"percentAsian":17,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"19.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":92.0,"schoolId":19809,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Grove Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Grove Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/center-grove-community-school-corporation/north-grove-elementary-school/19809"}
