As a public school teacher in rural Indiana, I am very limited in what I am able to provide for my students. Your gift makes a difference! I have been wanting to teach the novel Long Way Down ever since I first read it a few years ago. It is a very slow and difficult process to find used copies in thrift stores, and with the quantity of copies I needed, I did not foresee this ever happening. Due to generous gifts from donors like you, I was able to secure 35 copies of the novel! This should all me to teach full classes this novel for years to come. \r\n\r\nSometimes we do not see where our kindness leads. My hope is that through this thank-you and the photos I will be uploading, you will be able to see the reach of your own kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1762628162924,"projectUrl":"project/diverse-novel-in-verse/9454364/","projectTitle":"Diverse Novel in Verse","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dillon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8492718_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1698971341712","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8492718"},{"teacherId":10042625,"projectId":9485682,"letterContent":"We are still mastering our embroidery machine but it gives us another option for our students run business. As you can see from the pictures, we have a tote full of yarn, and we are ready to start our project.\r\n\r\nStudents will work as team to form a business and then simulate the aspects of running that business. They have a manager; a production team, they order supplies, make the products, pay employees, and then receive a sell price for the item. Their goal is to turn a profit.\r\n\r\nBefore we begin, the students will decide what organization they want the items they create to go for this semester. Once we spend our two weeks running our business, we will make the donation to the organization of their choice. They are so interested in the concepts of Greek mythology now, and are interested in the standards I am trying to employ. They want to have discussions and engage with me, which is the best feeling!
