Because of your support, we were able to add flexible seating options that the children can use throughout the day. During our three large group times, the students are now able to choose the seat that works best for them, which has made these times more engaging and comfortable. Having the freedom to select their own seating has truly empowered the children to take ownership of their learning experience.\r\n\r\nThe benefits go beyond large group times as well. The students often choose to bring a seat with them into centers, especially when they are working on the floor. This flexibility has encouraged independence and given students the ability to focus on their learning without being distracted by discomfort. It has also supported students in making choices that fit their own needs and preferences, which has been wonderful to see.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made our classroom more inclusive and welcoming for all learners. By providing a variety of seating options, you have helped ensure that every child feels comfortable, supported, and ready to participate fully in every activity. The children have been absolutely fascinated by the endless possibilities they provide. We placed the magnatiles in both our science and interest areas, and the students immediately dove into exploring ways to combine and create new structures. Their excitement was especially evident when they discovered the tubes and tunnels. They quickly realized they had to think critically and problem solve how to connect the pieces so the marble could successfully slide through.\r\n\r\nBeyond the science and engineering challenges, these materials have encouraged important social and emotional growth as well. The children are practicing patience by waiting for a turn, learning to share materials, and discovering how to communicate when they have a different idea they want to try. These moments of teamwork and collaboration have been just as valuable as the problem-solving skills. Watching them navigate both the building process and their interactions with peers has been a joy to see.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly enriched our classroom learning environment. The magnatiles are not only helping students develop STEM skills but also building the foundation for lifelong social skills such as cooperation, creativity, and perseverance. None of this would have been possible without your support, and we sincerely thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our students' education and daily experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1744032778710,"projectUrl":"project/stem-in-action-magna-tiles-for-growing/9215427/","projectTitle":"Stem in Action: Magna-Tiles for Growing Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Raquel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7921615_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722268787388","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rvarela"},{"teacherId":10001929,"projectId":9261103,"letterContent":"During the first week of school our students were extremely excited to explore the different materials that were donated to our class. They were eager to explore the calming tools, math manipulatives, and literacy activities. One of the most powerful moments was when a student who often struggles with big feelings quietly chose a fidget from our calming corner, used it for a few minutes, and then was able to rejoin the group with a smile. It was such a clear reminder of how important it is to provide children with safe, supportive tools for self-regulation.\r\nIn math, the counting bears and number locks have quickly become class favorites. During one small group activity, students worked together to separate the rainbow bears into the correct pile. These hands on experiences are helping them make meaningful connections and build confidence in their problem solving skills. Our new literacy boxes have also brought learning to life students love practicing letter sounds and vocabulary in fun, interactive ways.\r\nAs we continue, we will be using these materials daily to support both academic and social-emotional growth. Our next steps include integrating the Kids' Book of Diversity into a classroom project on kindness, where students will create their own \"Acts of Kindness\" book to share with families. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom feels more engaging, inclusive, and joyful. These hands-on learning tools have done more than just engage our students — they've transformed the way they understand and interact with key concepts. \r\n\r\nMy students were very excited when they saw all the new manipulative toys I had available for them in the classroom. The students where using the items daily. I had the items placed in different areas of the classroom. The science center became a popular center due to the science viewers. That help them engage with teachers and peers in the classroom. As they would flip through the pictures on the viewer they would talk about what they saw; the real pictures helped them connect to real life experiences and our unit of study.\r\n\r\nIt has been truly inspiring to see students work together, explore creatively, and take ownership of their learning in new ways. The joy on their faces when they solve a problem or build something meaningful speaks volumes about the impact these resources have had.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your support — your contribution is not just helping students learn, but helping them love learning.","fullyFundedDate":1739369078911,"projectUrl":"project/fine-motor-fun/9019027/","projectTitle":"Fine Motor Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Norma","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9560207_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740025560507","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9560207"},{"teacherId":9620523,"projectId":9046201,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has become a more inclusive, nurturing, and responsive space for every student. The resources we received, like the therapy putty, fidgets, multicultural dolls, and emotion mirrors, have already made a meaningful difference in helping children feel safe, understood, and valued.\r\n\r\nOne special moment came during a morning check-in when a student used the feeling mirror to identify that they were feeling \"frustrated.\" They pointed to the face and then reached for a fidget on their own, something they hadn't done before. It was such a powerful sign that they are beginning to recognize and regulate their emotions, which is a huge step in both their social-emotional and academic growth.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their eyes lit up with excitement and curiosity. The sensory table quickly became a favorite, and the multicultural dolls led to thoughtful conversations where children said things like, \"She looks like my sister!\" or \"He's like my cousin in Mexico!\" These authentic moments of connection are exactly what we hoped to cultivate with this project.\r\n\r\nNext, we're continuing to build on this foundation by integrating more social-emotional learning into daily routines. Students are working on creating their own \"feelings books,\" where they draw and label how they feel and what helps them cope. It's helping them develop emotional vocabulary and independence, one feeling at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1739369080506,"projectUrl":"project/cultivating-a-sense-of-community-and-inc/9046201/","projectTitle":"Cultivating a Sense of Community and Inclusion","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maria","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9620523_orig.jpg?crop=1240,1240,x0,y520&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723410709723","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9620523"},{"teacherId":7921615,"projectId":8527536,"letterContent":"The families were overjoyed with the news that their family received a subscription for the year. The book bags were a great help to my students when it came to making sure their books were placed in a secure, heavy duty bag that can fit inside their backpacks. This way my students were able to participate in the shared library at our school. The bookshelf was used in the classroom and it spins so the students are able to choose and pick out the books they want by themselves!
