We are fully aware that there are many worthwhile initiatives to choose from, and we are deeply grateful that you selected ours.\r\nThe snacks you provided will play a crucial role in helping my students prepare for day to day activities as well as significant assessments, including state testing. These resources will ensure they are physically and mentally energized, allowing them to perform at their best and demonstrate everything they have learned. \r\nThe fidgets and treats have become excellent motivational tools for my students, encouraging them to complete their work and actively participate in class. Middle school students often face challenges staying engaged, so I love rewarding those who make an effort to improve and excel. Every day, students have the opportunity to enter our class raffle by being prepared, trying the task/problem, and sharing their thinking. At the end of the day, I pull three to six tickets, and the winners are celebrated with applause and a choice of a fidget or treat. We've also set class goals—where these items can be shared with students as well. \r\nThe Expo markers have been a tremendous addition to our new classroom setup. With students now working at vertical spaces, the markers have made it possible for us to stand, move, and collaborate while engaging with the curriculum. Research shows that \"a standing brain is a thinking brain,\" and these markers have helped create an environment where students feel more confident in making changes and edits to their learning.\r\nAs their teacher, I cannot thank you enough for providing resources that will have a lasting impact on all of my students. In education, it's vital to meet students' basic needs while also showing them that math can be approachable and essential to their future success.\r\ns","fullyFundedDate":1730139381933,"projectUrl":"project/lets-make-math-less-scary/8478253/","projectTitle":"Let's Make Math Less Scary","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Michalak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9099229"},{"teacherId":8989168,"projectId":8663946,"letterContent":"Students are using these new resources in class every day. The flexible seating allows students to move around the classroom with more ease as well as help with movement needs. Many students in class need an outlet for movement and not sitting still for entire class periods . We have students that have been more engaged just from the new stools and seating in class. They were all so excited to have new seating as the class chairs are not always suitable for all types of learners . This seating has cut down distractions from bulky chairs being moved around as well. \r\nThe next steps with the new chairs as well as the learning tools will allow for more engagement as well as a new learning opportunities for the students in classes.
