We've been using them for interactive reviews, games, and activities that allow every student to participate at the same time. They work especially well for quick checks for understanding, since I can see the whole class's responses instantly. During a recent review game, students wrote and held up their answers together—it kept everyone accountable without putting too much pressure on any one individual. The boards have added a straightforward, low-tech way to make lessons more interactive.\r\n\r\nWhen I first introduced the whiteboards, students were curious and willing to try them, though their reactions were more subdued than younger grades might show. They've since integrated into our daily lessons naturally, becoming a routine part of group work and discussions. For example, in a recent history lesson, students used them to sketch quick maps and timelines to support their analysis of key events. As a next step, we'll be using the boards to help organize ideas for an upcoming project analyzing primary sources, where students will need to share their interpretations and connections clearly. The whiteboards provide a simple but effective resource to make that process more collaborative and efficient.","fullyFundedDate":1740762462641,"projectUrl":"project/increasing-student-engagement-with-white/8999541/","projectTitle":"Increasing Student Engagement with Whiteboards","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Schmidt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9870173"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30123","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":294,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":17,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":33.3,"schoolId":30123,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tri - Valley High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tri - Valley High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/tri-valley-cmty-school-dist-3/tri-valley-high-school/30123"}
