There have been several times already this semester where I have been able to go beyond what I normally could do, simply because I am able to provide every student in my classroom and ruler and protractor, as we look deeper into some Geometric concepts.\r\n\r\nI have also had several students inquire about some of the mathematicians that I have placed around my classroom from the posters that were acquired through this project. I always think it is fascinating to see students inquire about the mathematical minds that came before them, and how those people were able to do so much without the use of technology that we have today.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much for your contributions, as it has helped make my classroom and more fully, functional classroom where students can learn at their best.","fullyFundedDate":1733180962963,"projectUrl":"project/mr-millers-materials-for-mathematics-m/8926027/","projectTitle":"Mr. Miller's Materials for Mathematics Mastery!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9829209"},{"teacherId":9826463,"projectId":8920453,"letterContent":"Thank you for the donation of headphones and fidgets for my classroom. Your support has made a significant difference in our school community, and I am thrilled to share how it has positively impacted our learning environment.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting aspects of your contribution was the procurement of calculators for the math department. Mathematics is a subject that requires both analytical thinking and the right tools to help students grasp complex concepts. With the new calculators, our students can now tackle challenging problems with greater ease and confidence. The math teachers have reported a noticeable increase in student engagement during lessons, as learners are no longer hindered by a lack of resources. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the calculators, the science teacher expressed her excitement over the posters that were funded through your donation. Visual aids play a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience, particularly in science, where concepts can often be abstract or difficult to visualize. The new posters not only brighten up the classroom but also serve as effective learning tools that help students grasp complex scientific ideas. \r\n\r\nPerhaps one of the most appreciated additions from your generous donation is the supply of snacks for our students. Many learners have shared that they struggle to focus throughout the day due to hunger or a lack of energy. By providing snacks, we are addressing a critical need that often goes unnoticed in the classroom. Students have expressed their gratitude for this simple yet impactful gesture. They report feeling more alert and ready to learn after having a quick snack, which contributes to a more productive classroom atmosphere. It's wonderful to see how something as simple as a snack can uplift their spirits and enhance their overall learning experience.\r\n\r\nIn conclusion, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and commitment to education. Your support through the DonorsChoose project has made a tangible difference in the lives of our students and teachers. We are truly grateful for your kindness and willingness to invest in our school community. Together, we are creating a nurturing environment that encourages learning and growth, empowering students to reach their full potential.","fullyFundedDate":1732037160036,"projectUrl":"project/school-supplies-for-teachers/8937277/","projectTitle":"School Supplies for Teachers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Whightsil","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581795"},{"teacherId":9581795,"projectId":8919198,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your incredibly generous donation to my DonorsChoose project, which is dedicated to enhancing mental health within our school community. With your support, we have been able to organize a wonderful wellness day and improve our counseling office services, making a significant difference in the lives of our students.\r\n\r\nMental health is an essential aspect of our students' overall well-being, and your contribution has allowed us to create an environment where they can feel safe and supported. The activities we organized were not only enjoyable but also therapeutic, providing students with valuable tools to manage stress and anxiety. The response from the students has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am excited to share some of the highlights from our wellness day.\r\n\r\nOne of the most popular activities was finger knitting. This craft not only allowed students to express their creativity but also served as a calming exercise. The repetitive motions involved in finger knitting have been shown to help reduce anxiety and promote mindfulness. Students reported feeling relaxed and focused as they engaged in this activity, and many even took their creations home as a reminder of their time spent together.\r\n\r\nAnother fantastic addition to our wellness day was the gratitude journals. Each student received a journal to jot down things they are thankful for, which is a powerful practice that fosters positive thinking. Research has shown that gratitude can significantly impact mental health, and our students embraced this activity wholeheartedly. They shared heartfelt entries and enjoyed reflecting on the positive aspects of their lives, which is a beautiful way to cultivate a sense of appreciation.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous donation, we were able to provide essential snacks, fidgets, coloring supplies, and other activities that contributed to creating a safe and inviting space for our students. The snacks helped keep energy levels up during the various activities, and the fidgets were particularly well-received. Many students expressed their gratitude for these items, noting how they helped them to focus and engage in the activities more effectively.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your support cannot be overstated. Without your generosity, these enriching experiences would not have been possible. The students truly loved the fidgets, which they found helpful in managing their emotions and staying focused during lessons. Your contributions have allowed us to foster a supportive environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally.\r\n\r\nIn closing, I want to reiterate my sincere appreciation for your thoughtful donation. The students have expressed their gratitude, and I am incredibly thankful for your commitment to improving mental health in our school. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students, and I look forward to sharing more success stories with you in the future. Your kindness is truly inspiring, and we are so fortunate to have you as a supporter of our mission. Thank you once again for your generosity and belief in our cause.","fullyFundedDate":1730769871209,"projectUrl":"project/ths-mental-health-supplies/8919198/","projectTitle":"THS Mental Health Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Whightsil","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581795"},{"teacherId":9829244,"projectId":8925949,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the support to our classroom. The student have very much enjoyed the fidget toys, supplies, and snacks. Students often come to school with no breakfast. They are hungry and cannot focus. I have seen a huge improvement in students focus in class when they are given a snack. \r\n\r\nThe fidget toys have also helped with concentration and the climate in the classroom. The students often use the spinners and fidgets while they are working on homework or during notes. The brain teaser puzzles have been great for students who finish their homework early. They have something to focus on and problem solve. \r\n\r\nThe students were extremely excited when they saw the fidgets and snacks. I have saved different fidgets to put out each week. I have also learned a lot more about the skills and abilities of my students. Replacing regular everyday PE equipment takes most of our budget each year. Implementing new units or new equipment can be expensive, but thanks to Donors Choose and donors like you, we were able to add some new games for our students. \r\n\r\nJust before Christmas break, it was like Santa delivered some gifts for our students. Our items arrived, and some of the high school students helped to sort and assemble our new games. My high school students immediately were drawn to the the new cornhole boards, and they played most of the hour on the day prior to break. My middle school students really enjoyed Bucket Golf and Ladder Golf. \r\n\r\nThe timing of these gifts was perfect as we had just finished our badminton unit. Keeping students engaged a day or two prior to a long Christmas break is challenging. However, when I set up these new games, the students had fun day. Some of my high school students had finals that were stressing them out. These games provided an hour worth of social fun. They could forget about their final for a moment and just have fun with their peers. \r\n\r\nThank you donors for funding a project such as this!","fullyFundedDate":1733181045637,"projectUrl":"project/outdoor-games-for-social-and-emotional-h/8933270/","projectTitle":"Outdoor Games for Social and Emotional Health","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jost","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9831716_orig.jpg?crop=3264,3264,x0,y391&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731188313714","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9831716"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30100","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":276,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.1,"schoolId":30100,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tremont High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tremont High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/tremont-community-unit-school-district-702/tremont-high-school/30100"}
