Students read websites, watched videos and completed activities out of the Astronomy Activity Book that was donated. The students enjoyed looking at the colorful pictures, viewing pictures of different constellations and completing fun activities in the book. \r\n After completing some background work on Astronomy we started looking at sun-Earth-moon systems, planetary characteristics, constellations, stars and gravity's role. We would transform our classroom into the sky by using the Planet Projector (that was also donated). The students enjoyed this. I would tell them they were scientists studying space. I sensed an excitement to study this topic and working in the transformed room. \r\n Finally, I used the Planetarium Projector to transform the room for the final day of the unit. The students had stations to move around as if they were astronauts walking on each planet. We had all 8 planets throughout the classroom. The students could visually see everything they had studied.\r\n We appreciate all that you have done to make this unit (and others) a dream come true.
