As you know, I work with students with a variety of disabilities, such as learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, etc. This presents new challenges each day as I learn what accommodations work for each student. For many of them, flexible seating allows them to stay focused on tasks, especially with the use of the exercise ball because they can slightly move around as they work without distracting others. For others, working somewhere besides behind a school desk is a relief. Additionally, the pillow pads have helped us with both group work and individual work, because it allows students to remain comfortable throughout the classroom, even on the floor.
