The new rug and wobble stools have quickly become the most utilized and beloved additions to our space.\r\n\r\nImmediate Classroom Impact\r\n\r\nActive Focus: The wobble stools give my students the subtle movement they need to stay engaged. Children who used to struggle to sit still during independent work are now deeply focused, channelizing their extra energy constructively without distracting peers.\r\n\r\nA Dedicated Gathering Place: The vibrant new rug has created a warm, defined space for our morning meetings, group read-alouds, and mini-lessons. It provides every student with a comfortable, personal spot to sit and participate.\r\n\r\nCollaboration & Joy: Students literally smile when it is their turn to use the wobble seats. Having options for flexible seating has boosted overall classroom morale and encouraged self-regulation, as students learn to choose the seating option that helps them learn best.\r\n\r\nEvery single day, these resources help my students feel comfortable, valued, and ready to learn. Our team worked hard together to refresh our hallway bulletin boards to reflect the positive, welcoming environment we want our students to feel.\r\n\r\nOur team theme this year is \"Shining Stars\" so we have created spaces with that in mind. The first, \"You make the whole class shimmer\" includes photos of each of our students in order to foster a sense of belonging and ownership. Families have been invited to bring their students' photo to our Open House so we are looking forward to adding more to that space. The second, \"Shining Stars\" honors our students of the week; students who go above and beyond in their schoolwork and interactions with teachers and peers. Four students are selected every week and honored with a small prize and a gold star. Students write their names on the stars and add them to our display.\r\n\r\n\"My\" latest project is working as a Donors Choose Ambassador to help other teachers in my building create their own projects. I am lucky to have experienced tremendous generosity through this great organization and want to share that with others.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your part in making this project possible. One of my groups likes to create items each day, then show them to me to guess who sculpted each creation. They always come up with something creative and it's fun to watch them! We've also put our refreshed markers to good use with the many class charts we create.
