I wish all of you you could have been in my classroom the day these materials were delivered. As a couple staff members brought the packages in, my students' jaws dropped. They could not believe that people who don't even know them were willing to help provide these items for our classroom. They use these items on a daily basis and have been able to increase their independence due to these items increasing accessibility. Books are easier for them to find in our library, math centers are more independent due to the organizational materials, and they enjoy choosing fun pens to use on their word work. While these things may seem small, the combination of them makes for a classroom that runs more smoothly and allows students to feel a sense of ownership over their daily tasks. Many of my books that the students love were being stored on and in a desk. I currently have the bookshelf up and the kids know that it houses the current book series that are popular with their class. There are many graphic novels along with fun fact books.\r\n\r\nThe shelf was up when my current class began school, so the shelf was not anything 'new' to them. I have had many students from my class last year stop in and ask me why I got all the 'cool' things for this year, like the bookshelf. They like stopping in and looking at the shelf and all of the books that they enjoyed looking through last year.\r\n\r\nMy goal is to keep adding to the books on the shelf. I left space on each so I can get new books for the series to help keep them growing. The variety and the adding to the series, I am hoping pushes all of the students to continue or begin a love for reading.","fullyFundedDate":1747175291575,"projectUrl":"project/lets-give-some-books-a-home/9328017/","projectTitle":"Let’s Give Some Books a Home!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Angel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10022270"},{"teacherId":4843844,"projectId":8783619,"letterContent":"I hope this message finds you well.
