When boxes arrived, my students were immediately curious about them, and I explained how these items came about. They thought it was pretty cool that a stranger would support our classroom. As I began to open the boxes, my students were so excited to see mints and all the flexible seating.\r\n\r\nI didn't think mints would be more popular than Jolly Ranchers, but I was so wrong! They've been a strong incentive with a rambunctious classroom and are often chosen over the Jolly Ranchers with my Jolly Ranchers Wars. Additionally, the extra plug-ins have made the room smell delightful and brings a sense of calm to the classroom. I often hear students say, \"your room smells good!\" \r\n\r\nWith the flexible seating, students jokingly fifth over who gets the comfy chairs. This caused me to start VIP seating where the student for the day can pick a friend to sit with comfortably. Every day, students come in and look for their name. I hear, \"yes!\" when their name is on the board.\r\n\r\nWith the giant coloring page, I have seen many students, the ones who like to color and who don't often color, gravitate towards this when they need a break or during First Chapter Friday. They're committed to creating a beautiful image.\r\n\r\nWith all if these items, my students and myself are grateful and have really enjoyed the additions!","fullyFundedDate":1733436971156,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-matters-in-middle-school/8899140/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Matters in Middle School","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Brienen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9813737_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729716892888","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9813737"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27664","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":685,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":88.0,"schoolId":27664,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kingsley Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kingsley Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/mclean-co-unit-district-5/kingsley-junior-high-school/27664"}
