Many thanks for the wonderful donations that went into helping build our classroom library. \r\n\r\nBooks are essential when it comes to storytelling and adding these to our classroom is always a reason to celebrate. We love participating on classroom read alouds using picture books because this way we can quickly expose our children to different concepts and ideas and help build their background knowledge on topics they've never heard of. For this being my first project I was blown away by how quickly this project was funded. Words cannot begin to express how much I appreciate your generosity! When I told my students about all the new books we were getting for our classroom they could not contain their excitement!\r\n\r\nYour donation has already had such a great impact on my classroom. While this is my 5th year teaching it takes a long time to build a quality classroom library with texts that are engaging to students. For years my library has been filled with books that are older than me! Being able to bring these new books into my library creates relevancy and allows my students to see themselves in these stories. I have seen a greater interest in reading since I added the books to my library. I think this is the first time in my teaching career that I've seen students argue about who gets to read a book first!\r\n\r\nI can't wait to use these books for years to come for read alouds, literature circles, books clubs and more. These books will lead to important and meaningful discussions with students about identity and acceptance. I hope these books will touch students and teach them to be kindhearted people and show them even the smallest positive action can help make this world a better place.","fullyFundedDate":1744219815304,"projectUrl":"project/our-world-in-stories-building-a-diverse/9242964/","projectTitle":"Our World in Stories: Building a Diverse Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Logerquist","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7758433_orig.png?crop=100,100,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744131470902","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7758433"},{"teacherId":9751833,"projectId":8788894,"letterContent":"We are deeply grateful for your generous support, which has enabled us to integrate engaging math games into our classroom. These games have proven invaluable in addressing foundational gaps in our students' mathematical understanding. The interactive and visual nature of the games allows students to revisit core concepts playfully, fostering reinforcement and building confidence. Moreover, these games have significantly increased student engagement with math. What was once seen as challenging is now approached with enthusiasm as students actively participate, strategize, and collaborate. This dynamic learning environment has cultivated critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a way traditional methods often cannot.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these math games on student growth has been substantial. We've observed a deeper understanding of key concepts, increased confidence in tackling mathematical challenges, and overall improved performance. The games offer a differentiated approach, allowing students to learn at their own pace while actively participating. Your contribution has provided our students with a more accessible, enjoyable, and effective pathway to mathematical proficiency.
