We jumped right into building Putz houses. This project combined architecture, design, and a lot of careful craftsmanship. Students chose either a haunted house theme or a gingerbread‑style cottage, and what they created was incredible. They measured, planned, cut, rebuilt, decorated, and most importantly, problem solved like real makers. The Chompsaws gave students the chance to experience STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) concepts within the art classroom. \r\n \r\n\r\nNow that they're comfortable with tool‑based construction, we're starting a second project: animal bust sculptures. Students are using cardboard forms, layered paper-mache, and mixed‑media surface treatments to bring their chosen animals to life. We are moving from house structures to sculptural forms, and it has really pushed their 3D thinking. \r\n\r\nYour support didn't just buy materials; it made our art room feel like a true makerspace where students can experiment, build, take risks, and discover what they're capable of.
