This year, your donation impacted 138 sixth grade students, and will reach another 700 in the next five years! These texts introduced students to their groundbreaking contributions and sparked curiosity about science, technology, engineering, and math.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is hands-on and interactive. Students don't just read—they researched and created! After using the books you helped purchase to research the lives and accomplishments of STEM pioneers, students designed a miniature golf course that celebrated and educated people about that pioneer's accomplishment. For example, after learning about Esther Lederberg and her discovery of the lambda bacteriophage, students built a golf hole shaped like a giant bacteriophage. A seven-foot-tall Saturn V rocket was built to commemorate the women who made the Apollo space program a success. The project brought engineering and history to life! Excitement grew as students explained the pioneers' contributions to their families while they played the courses. Thanks to your generosity, all students who participated in this project have a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the roll women and BIPOC innovators have played in creating the modern world!\r\n\r\nWe are grateful for your support and for helping our students make these important connections.","fullyFundedDate":1725400443125,"projectUrl":"project/women-bipoc-in-stem-classroom-library/8371802/","projectTitle":"Women & Bipoc in Stem Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Foust","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9465118"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27940","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":405,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":16,"percentAsian":34,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":33.3,"schoolId":27940,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Hall Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincoln Hall Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/lincolnwood-school-district-74/lincoln-hall-middle-school/27940"}
