The (now) 8th graders in my weekly Creative Expressions coping group have really enjoyed all the new materials that came through your generosity to my Donors Choose project. We have been working on new projects every other week or so, and often-times they don't finish in the half hour a week we have for group, so come back to a preferred project week after week. We've made slime, felted banners, painted rocks, colored frames, and have decorated individual folders - and we have so much more material to get through!\r\n\r\nThe scissors, hot glue guns, paint markers, and embroidery floss have been huge hits so far! The students got so excited when they saw the amount and variety of embroidery floss colors and paint markers. I loved to see the girls helping each other when we made friendship bracelets with the embroidery floss. Seeing them practicing small acts of kindness like this with each other - saying, \"Please\" and \"Thank You,\" and, \"Can I have that after you?\" or, \"Can you show me how?\" - is heartwarming. These are skills we can't take for granted. I believe the students feel genuinely grateful for having the materials, and that contributes to them being more open-hearted with each other.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is truly appreciated! The students feel special and will continue to be able to create a variety of items.","fullyFundedDate":1745265015951,"projectUrl":"project/creative-expressions-for-capable-coping/9250916/","projectTitle":"Creative Expressions for Capable Coping","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Arrigo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9993553_orig.jpg?crop=481,481,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744590602298","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-arrigo"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29842","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":789,"numTeachers":66,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":18,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":29842,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Springman Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Springman Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/glenview-community-consolidated-school-district-34/springman-middle-school/29842"}
