This simple upgrade closes the gap between simply watching content and truly comprehending every word, enhancing listening comprehension and language fluency.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part is the immediate improvement in engaging with authentic Spanish-language media. Our students can now clearly hear dialogues and subtle inflections in films and theatrical works, turning frustrating listening into a vibrant lesson. Our auditory learners and those new to the language have especially benefited, showing increased confidence in comprehension quizzes. Many have seen the movies but none have read the book. The book is allowing us to see how vivd language impacts our perceptions. We are able to analyze characters with greater discernment while practicing citing from the text, (a valuable skill needed in literary analysis). \r\n\r\nMy students have been so engaged with the text, because they have that movie reference. There is an added bonus, movie to book comparision. This practice enhances metacognition. By linking new information in a text to personal experiences, previous knowledge, or other texts, readers develop deeper understanding, actively monitor their comprehension, and can adjust their strategies as needed, thereby enhancing both reading comprehension and overall metacognitive skills. \r\n\r\nSo many beneifts from a simple enjoyable activity such as this, that you have helped create, will benefit these students now and into the future! Without these resources, this tournament simply could not have happened.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your gift extends far beyond the equipment itself. For many of our students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, opportunities like this are rare. Esports provides a platform where they can compete, collaborate, and showcase their talents in ways that traditional sports sometimes cannot capture. Through this tournament, countless numbers of students experienced the excitement of high-level competition, the pride of representing their schools, and the sense of belonging that comes with being part of something bigger than themselves.\r\n\r\nYour support did more than create a one-time event—it opened doors. Students who participated in this tournament are now inspired to pursue future opportunities in gaming, technology, media, and even collegiate esports programs. They are building transferable skills like communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem solving that will serve them for years to come. For many, this was not just a tournament, but a stepping stone toward discovering new passions and future career paths.\r\n\r\nThis tournament also strengthened our local school communities. Families, educators, and administrators came together to cheer on their students, many witnessing for the first time the power of esports as a unifying force. The pride and confidence gained by our players will ripple outward, positively influencing their academic engagement and personal growth.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our mission and investing in our students. Your generosity has given our kids a chance to shine on a stage they might never have imagined possible—and has set a foundation for future tournaments and opportunities for years to come.\r\n\r\nWe are proud to say: because of you, the inaugural UpState 8 Esports Conference Tournament was not just a success, but a milestone moment in the lives of countless students.","fullyFundedDate":1730163143576,"projectUrl":"project/support-the-inaugural-upstate-8-esports/8896009/","projectTitle":"Support the Inaugural UpState 8 Esports Conference Tournament: Phase 2","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Keathley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9806236_orig.jpg?crop=1600,1600,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729373598309","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9806236"},{"teacherId":9899595,"projectId":9066102,"letterContent":"This project has truly breathed new life into my classroom. With these materials, we have been able to make algebra within their reach. Most of the material is online. I download pages and make packets for each unit for them. There are also videos that go along with the lessons to help them practice note taking. The separate books help to further explain the steps and skills needed for each unit.
