Worksheets for special needs students that actually look like the real objects/people make it easier for them to recognize the them outside of the school setting. Things like money, safety signs, road signs just to name a few things.\r\n \r\n It is also nice to have snacks available when students come in asking for something because they are hungry. I work with students who have disabilities but the regular education students know that they are welcome to come into my room and get snacks or supplies when they need them. Students always get excited when we get boxes with new things for our room. It makes them take pride in our classroom when we get nice things for them to use and enjoy. I get excited when I get new supplies to use. lol I also love to see the kids faces light up when they get new things, it's like Christmas morning.\r\n \r\nIt's nice for students to have a place to hang out when they are done with their work and socialize. Social skills are an important skill that many are lacking, so having this hang out place encourages that. They also have nice chairs to sit in when they are working on the computers.
