My students love to paint and will ask frequently about painting again! \r\n The very first project that I was able to use was fourth grade. This was a cross curriculum project involving reading and geography. Students read out loud to classmates about landforms. We discussed about 8 - 10 landforms and each student chose 4 different landforms to paint and draw. I was also able to ask students if they have ever seen or been to any landforms in the past. It was a very positive and rewarding lesson.\r\n I was also able to use watercolors in a unique way with second grade. After reviewing watercolor procedures with them, I had them paint colors on a small piece of paper. This lesson involved reviewing geometric shapes and introducing organic shapes. After reviewing both shapes, students drew aforementioned shapes on their paintings. Then, they cut them out and wrote shape of each name on their work. They each made four shapes from their watercolors and construction paper and glued each shape on a line study that they did the previous class. It was a great lesson and the students really enjoyed it a lot.\r\n\r\nThis could not have been possible without your generous donations. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.","fullyFundedDate":1755366971771,"projectUrl":"project/watercolor-supplies-for-my-students-for/9597783/","projectTitle":"Watercolor Supplies for My Students for 2025-2026","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jordan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10170382"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28944","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":188,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":94,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.9,"schoolId":28944,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Park School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Park School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/dolton-riverdale-sch-dist-148/park-school/28944"}
