This carpet brings a fun and bright atmosphere into the classroom and we love it so much! \r\n\r\nWe have been ending our days with board games to calm our bodies down before we head home via walking and riding the bus. I asked for some extra clothing and blankets to help the kids to be clean and a little more comfortable in those circumstances. \r\n\r\nAfter your generous donations came in, the health office staff was inspired to acquire some organizing bins and more clothing donations, which has helped with inventory for the remainder of this school year. Our new rug has been a favorite for students to do their independent work on, and the testing dividers have been super helpful for my students to stay focused and not get distracted by others while working. This helps me as a teacher as well to know that my students are focused and excited for their learning environment when they're independently working while they are not with me. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the rug delivered, they were full of anticipation and excitement. I laid the rug out the next day and was met with thankfulness and gratefulness for a rug that was a better fit for our classroom. I was able to tell my students that many kind and generous people donated their own money to be able to help our classroom and my students were shocked. When they saw the dividers, they immediately started using them and have used them almost every day since. Not only does our classroom look and operate better, but the students have been able to take their learning into their own hands and are very appreciative of a learning environment that fits their diverse needs. \r\n\r\nSo on behalf of my students and I, we say thank you so much again for your kind donations and the impact it has had on our classroom since. It serves as a platform for rewarding students who demonstrate responsible, respectful, reflective, and safe behaviors. Unfortunately, we receive limited funding from our school district, which has made it challenging to maintain and enhance the store's offerings. Previously, teachers were personally funding the store, investing their own paychecks to provide engaging items that motivate students in kindergarten through fifth grade to earn points through positive behaviors.\r\nThe support we have received from donors has been invaluable in transforming this situation. Many of our students are highly motivated by sports, and items such as footballs and basketballs can be quite costly. With the help of generous contributions, we can now offer a wider variety of exciting products that inspire students to work towards earning their rewards. I am profoundly grateful for this support, as it allows our teachers to focus on their primary responsibilities rather than spending their personal resources on the school store. This collaboration not only enhances our PBIS initiative but also fosters a more positive and engaging learning environment for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1734458274124,"projectUrl":"project/pawmazon-at-tyler-elementary/8806605/","projectTitle":"\"Pawmazon\" at Tyler Elementary","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Howard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9075022_orig.jpg?crop=1179,1179,x62,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721701367708","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9075022"},{"teacherId":9075022,"projectId":8567091,"letterContent":"In our classroom, the rug serves as a vital and multifunctional space that we utilize every day. It is the heart of our morning meetings, where we gather to review our calendar and schedule for the day. The rug is also central to our restorative circle conversations and social-emotional lessons, as well as our math group lessons. Additionally, we conduct our phonics instruction as a whole group on the rug, alongside various content areas such as science and social studies, and our writing lessons. This transformation of our learning environment has fostered a sense of community among all 27 students, eliminating any disputes over seating and ensuring that no student feels excluded from this important shared space.\r\nCurrently, we are focused on completing our learning units in preparation for report card assessments. In math, students are developing their skills in telling time on an analog clock and counting money. In phonics, they have successfully learned about the soft \"c\" and \"g\" sounds. Our science unit explores the states of matter, while our writing instruction emphasizes how to create a single-paragraph outline.
