My students were very excited to work with our new resources. January is kind of a slow moving month and it isn't very exciting for my students. Because of your generosity,I was able to bring some fun and creativity back into my classroom. Nonfiction is our current focus in my class. I was able to use the Play-Doh in reviewing for an upcoming test. Students used the Play-doh to create different symbols to help them to remember information for the upcoming test. Students have been consistently using play-doh as a focusing tool in my classroom. It's been used as a fidget to help them to focus on our material. The dry erase boards, markers, and erasers were used to engage students. Active student responding is key in checking in with students. \r\n\r\nMy next step with the play-doh is to use it in our fiction short story and novel unit. Students will get the opportunity to sculpt people, settings, and events. Anything that the students can do with their hands to help them engage with the lesson is a win in my book. All of this helps with comprehension and retention of material. Again, thank you very much for your kindness and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1730576213409,"projectUrl":"project/active-participation-forall/8913457/","projectTitle":"Active Participation ForAll","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hallman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9818593"},{"teacherId":1415321,"projectId":8923354,"letterContent":"I just wanted to send an immense THANK YOU for generously supporting my project \"Relaxed Minds Learn Better\". Initially, we offered a cart with supplies for lunch students to come to the library to color and create. Our cart was seriously running low on supplies; we were down to copy paper and dried out markers and gel pens that may or may not work. With your help, we were able to not only replenish the cart to keep our lunch crowd happy and coming back but also expand our mission to creating an after school stress relief club. Our stress relief club offers specific crafts for students to do along with stress relief strategies and a safe place to vent. We currently have 7 students involved but we are certain this club will expand as word gets out and the semester goes on. \r\nThe photos are of students using the Anxiety Relief Coloring Book For Teens and also making hearts with things they are thankful for. I have to say, although they are teens, their faces lit up when they saw the fresh markers and colorful paper. They were also so excited about the dual tip markers. They said it was a stress reliever just to be able to color inside the lines with ease:)","fullyFundedDate":1731002394956,"projectUrl":"project/relaxed-minds-learn-better/8923354/","projectTitle":"Relaxed Minds Learn Better","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bryant","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1415321"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27174","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1599,"numTeachers":111,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":27174,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about H.L.
