My student absolutely adore the games, fidgets, books, and other materials for the classroom. \"A Little Spot of Feelings\" is constantly missing from my bookshelf because someone is always reading it. They also love the little plush characters that came with it. I have the feelings poster from the book on the wall by the door, which allows students to find the words to describe their feelings. With everything going on outside of school in my students' community within the Chicago suburbs, this resource has helped them to talk about their feelings this year. \r\n\r\nThe games for indoor recess have created a great classroom community for all students. Whether they follow the rules or not, every student has been able to play a game that they think is fun during indoor recess, which has not always happened before this year. We have played some of the games as a class, specifically Tapple, to engage in conversation and build vocabulary. My class loves all of these activities, and some are more excited for indoor recess than outdoor recess.\r\n\r\nI am trying to teach my students more mindfulness as well, so the mindfulness tools and fidgets have supported my students in their practice this year. They use the calming strips to slow down and take a breath when needed. They earn the fidgets as rewards every once in a while. Overall, my students and I are extremely grateful for your donations to our classroom, and I hope these materials continue to be well-loved for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1753298471700,"projectUrl":"project/mindfulness-and-community-building-in-el/9438831/","projectTitle":"Mindfulness and Community Building in Elementary Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Murk","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10066708_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752846189041","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10066708"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27716","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":509,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":70,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.4,"schoolId":27716,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lake Louise Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lake Louise Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/community-consolidated-school-district-15/lake-louise-elementary-school/27716"}
