It was most evident in daily practice, in their ensemble practice and rehearsal. Having a foot stool does not just improve a classical position for guitar. Students utilizing a more conventional position for folk guitar can use the foot stool under the other foot, as well. I have observed students making full use of the foot stool and noticing on their own how they have access to the low range of the guitar with even their smallest finger.\r\nStudents have quickly learned to appreciate the difference between having it and not. They have made mention of the benefit it obviously provides. It did take some guitarists a while to adapt. They are making the effort and understand why it's an essential benefit.\r\nWe are most grateful for your generosity and contributions to our program. Thank you to all who support our musical endeavors.","fullyFundedDate":1718551428188,"projectUrl":"project/get-on-the-good-foot/8232295/","projectTitle":"Get On The Good Foot!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Dimas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2234847_orig.jpg?crop=415,415,x244,y100&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763577481611","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jeffersonmutech"},{"teacherId":4146556,"projectId":8986983,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are for your generous donations. This funding has allowed my classroom to begin experimenting with Wacom drawing tablets and begin building skills that career graphic designers use regularly. Since receiving the tablets we were able to have our administration purchase 5 more, giving us a total of 10. Students practiced drawing with the pens, and it is much more difficult than it looks. \r\n\r\nThis year, we were also able to win a grant to have a laser cutter in our classroom for the end of the year. The students were then able to use the Wacom tablets to draw their creations in Adobe Illustrator and transfer them onto keychains and metal business cards. \r\n\r\nThe excitement in their eyes as they watch what they have done on a computer becomes something tangible that can go home with them, allows them to see and experience the benefits of being an industrial designer or graphic designer, and gives them the needed dexterity skills to grow as an artist.","fullyFundedDate":1742954138274,"projectUrl":"project/connecting-visually-through-art/8986983/","projectTitle":"Connecting Visually Through Art","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4146556_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1481576667874","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4146556"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5611","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":721,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.9,"schoolId":5611,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sullivan High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sullivan High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/sullivan-high-school/5611"}
