It is incredible how new soccer balls can can make a big impact on the students. The soccer balls were used to practice and taken to the games for the remainder of our season. This gave all students the opportunity to not only practice in a team but with their individual skills. Our team finished 2nd out of 8 teams in our group. Before we only had about 5 old balls for 20-22 students, but thank to your support, now every student can get their own. \r\n\r\nWhen the students came into practice and saw the boxes, they were so excited and most of them helped me unpack with, inflate the balls, and gather them together to quickly use them. They were already excited when I had told them that we were getting new soccer balls. \r\n\r\nAfter the season ended, the soccer balls have been used for a soccer unit with some classes, and will be used for the other classes that haven't had that unit at the end of the year. We have an event called \"Summer Olympics\" where all students participate in various activities and compete to become the champion of their grade level. Soccer is one of the biggest sport for that event and the big highlight will most likely be the new soccer balls. This equipment will also be used towards the girls soccer team which their season starts in late March. So, this new equipment was/is super beneficial for not just the boys soccer team, but for the entire school. In this project, we were able to get so many cool new chapter books that our student favorites like: Dog Man (in English and Spanish), and other cool graphic novels. \r\n\r\nWe use these books during our independant reading time which we look forward to everyday.
