Through careful observations, I discovered that my young learners were naturally curious about building all kinds of creations using materials like wooden and foam blocks, magnetic cubes, Duplos and our Loose Parts collection. Our classroom discussions often centered around what we need to build structures, different types of structures, who are the people who build things and the tools and materials needed for construction. As students began making connections between the real world and their play, we realized that we were missing some important materials to fully explore this high-interest topic --- and that's when YOU stepped in and made our learning magical!\r\nStudents were beyond excited as your \"surprises\" began arriving. From road, wheel and construction Magna-Tiles to new construction books, transportation counters and dramatic play steering wheels, students were fully engaged in hands-on, joyful learning every day! Through their play and exploration, students not only made meaningful connections to the world around them, but they also learned valuable life skills such as teamwork, collaboration, communication and compromise!
