All students who I work with at my middle school (about 30 students) have had a chance to enjoy making slime using the kits acquired in this project While he hasn't yet earned a party with friends, the student described in this project has also enjoyed making slime on a few occasions as a reward for positive behaviors. The slime kits are super easy and come with a variety of slime colors, types, and glitters. This student is primarily motivated by food as a reward, so the ramen you helped us acquire has been clutch to have on-hand. Back when you funded this project, we were nearly out of ramen. I am confident we will have enough to last us through the end of the year or very close to it. \r\n\r\nAs I am sure you know, it can be quite expensive being an educator, and CPS is very particular on what they reimburse. Over the last week, our \"zen den\" has undergone quite a transformation! Students and staff notice the change immediately upon entering. \r\n\r\nPictured are the before/after pictures. As you can see, the investments made in this project make our space look and feel completely different. Since acquiring these resources, dozens of students have enjoyed our space during individual and group sessions. Students have especially enjoyed the furry rug. A few students have even found themselves sprawling out on the rug doing \"snow angels\" on it -- that's how cozy it is! The felt bulletin board really spruces up our room! The white board behind it isn't magnetic. It also has parts peeled. In other words... it's old and gross! The felt board truly makes our space feel more modernized, and it looks beautiful with some of the decor we added. \r\n\r\nThe space itself is a basement-level room filled with pipes on the ceiling (we rent our school building from the Catholic church). In just a few short weeks, multiple students (about 100 across grades K-8) have had access to these fidgets and Legos! \r\n\r\nMy students are Lego OBSESSED! The green lego-shaped bin is a fun way to store all the Lego (knockoff) pieces we acquired through this DonorsChoose project. And the 8 baseboards have come in handy to divide them amongst two counseling spaces! My students love to fidget with it and build their own fun creations with the Legos. \r\n\r\nThe Spongebob fidget cube is being used as an incentive for a student who receives special education services and needs a little extra boost for motivation to remain on-task and school-appropriate.
