It has already become a beloved and essential part of our classroom, and I am excited to share how we've been using it! \r\n \r\nThe rug has transformed the way we engage with geography. We've incorporated it into morning meetings, small group work, and interactive lessons. One of our favorite activities is \"State Spotlight\", where students take turns standing on a state and sharing interesting facts about it. We've also used the rug for a geography scavenger hunt, where students locate states based on historical events, landmarks, or clues from books we're reading. It's been an amazing tool for making learning more hands-on! \r\n\r\nTheir reactions when they first saw the rug were priceless! The moment they walked in and saw the vibrant, colorful rug, their excitement was through the roof. Many of them immediately started pointing out states where they've traveled or where family members live. Some even laid down on their home states! One student said, \"This is the coolest rug EVER!\" while another asked, \"Can we play games on it every day?\" Their enthusiasm made it clear that this resource was going to be a huge hit! \r\n\r\nAs we continue diving into U.S. geography units, students will use the rug in social studies discussions, including mapping important historical events and the impact of geography on early settlements. The rug is not just a learning tool—it's a launchpad for curiosity and discovery! \r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly enhanced our classroom and created a lasting impact on my students' learning experience. Thank you for bringing this vision to life and for making geography an engaging, hands-on adventure for my 5th graders.
