As the boxes began to come, my students were so excited! They had a fun chant they would cheer every time a new box arrived! It was like watching a bunch of teenagers on Christmas open the boxes to see what we got. I let them do the unwrapping and put things together. They picked where things went and tell me where they thought it should go.\r\nMy classroom is not extremely big, and we have some cupboard space, however my students LOVE to do art projects. I always have tone of markers and colored pencils, but we have had a hard time storing them. The furniture that was bought was perfect for this. It has made my classroom into a classy, organized atmosphere, where they know where to find what they need. \r\nI also have tried to bring in an element of comfort into my classroom that feels like home. The lights in my classroom were too bright and gave many of my student migraines. So the light covers and new lamps have helps exponentially. That, along with our coffee station and side table, where they can plug in their laptops to charge, has made it feel like home and a creative, safe atmosphere for many of them. Often other teachers will send there students to my room for a little peace and quiet!:) It has made a huge impact and I will be forever grateful! Thank you so much for seeing my vision, and being willing to donate to a group of amazing students!","fullyFundedDate":1729920788761,"projectUrl":"project/a-peaceful-creative-atmosphere/8852037/","projectTitle":"A Peaceful Creative Atmosphere","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9788721_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y89&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727889779685","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9788721"},{"teacherId":9626394,"projectId":8876688,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution to providing headphones for our students. In today's learning environment, headphones play a crucial role in helping students focus, engage with educational materials, and complete assignments. With access to individual headphones, students can listen to lessons, instructional videos, and audio-based learning tools without distractions, which is especially important in a classroom setting where noise levels can vary. Headphones allow them to immerse themselves in the material, enhancing their learning experience and helping them stay on track.\r\n\r\nFor many of our at-risk youth, having access to headphones can make all the difference in creating a positive and productive school experience. These students often face additional challenges at home and in their communities, and being able to focus in class without external distractions allows them to concentrate on their studies and feel more connected to their education. Whether it's listening to a reading assignment or engaging with interactive lessons, headphones provide a simple yet effective way to foster an environment of success and self-empowerment.\r\n\r\nIn fact, some of our students use headphones daily to ensure they can stay focused and engaged with their lessons. For these students, having headphones available is not just a luxury—it's a necessary tool for achieving academic success and overcoming the barriers they face. Your support is making a lasting impact on their educational journey, and we are truly grateful for your commitment to their growth and development. Thank you for helping us provide a more equitable learning experience for all our students.","fullyFundedDate":1729390359364,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-a-safe-learning-environment/8876688/","projectTitle":"Supplies for a Safe Learning Environment.","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Burkey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9626394"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32249","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":184,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.7,"schoolId":32249,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Meridian Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Meridian Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/idaho/west-ada-school-district-/meridian-academy/32249"}
