So far I have set up two different scenes- one for alphabet review and the other for counting. For alphabet review I filled the table with dried beans and alphabet puzzle pieces. The kids rolled a number cube and used oversized tweezers to count out that many of one of the items in the table. \r\n\r\nBoth activities were a huge hit and a great chance to practice skills we are learning in class in a tactile and engaging way. I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for supporting our classroom project, \"Empower Our Classroom for Literacy Success.\" Your kindness has brought so much excitement and learning to my young students, and I'm thrilled to share the difference you've made.\r\n\r\nThe new books, flexible seating, and literacy tools have become staples in our daily learning. My students love gathering on the cozy floor cushions to read aloud together, often choosing from the beautiful new books you helped us add to our library. One special moment came during our first \"Library Exploration Day.\" When the children saw all the colorful new books, they gasped with joy and couldn't wait to start reading. One student hugged a book and said, \"This is my favorite day ever!\"\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating has also helped us during small group activities. Students take turns sitting in the new seats while practicing letter sounds, sight words, or listening to stories. During a recent literacy center activity, they worked together to match pictures to words, giggling and cheering each other on.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we're working on a unit where students will explore seasonal stories and create pictures to share with the class. The new materials will be key in helping them build vocabulary and storytelling skills while keeping learning fun and engaging.\r\n\r\nThank you for bringing so much joy and possibility into our classroom. My students and I are truly grateful for your generosity and belief in their potential.","fullyFundedDate":1725563315793,"projectUrl":"project/empower-our-classroom-for-literacy-succe/8711933/","projectTitle":"Empower Our Classroom for Literacy Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cornia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9712073_orig.jpg?crop=618,618,x0,y35&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724883015721","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9712073"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_52334","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":495,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":23,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"20.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.4,"schoolId":52334,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mary McPherson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mary McPherson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/idaho/west-ada-school-district-/mary-mcpherson-elementary-school/52334"}
