So far I have set up two different scenes- one for alphabet review and the other for counting. For alphabet review I filled the table with dried beans and alphabet puzzle pieces. Using scoops and jars the kids hunted for letters and matched upper to lowercase letters. \r\n\r\nFor counting practice I switched the table to a winter theme with \"snowballs\" mixed in with penguin figurines and candy cane toys. The kids rolled a number cube and used oversized tweezers to count out that many of one of the items in the table. \r\n\r\nBoth activities were a huge hit and a great chance to practice skills we are learning in class in a tactile and engaging way. My students love gathering on the cozy floor cushions to read aloud together, often choosing from the beautiful new books you helped us add to our library. One student hugged a book and said, \"This is my favorite day ever!\"\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating has also helped us during small group activities.
