Our numbered Velcro dots work perfectly to assign the seats. They love coming to the carpet to work, and sometimes choose to work there instead of at their desks. \r\nOur structured literacy time is much more productive with everyone seated close to each other for support. The students love hearing how loud our sounds and words can be when we are in a tight group. \r\nWe are also using the rug as a quick head check for going home before sending students to the buses and pick up line. I can't begin to thank you for your generosity! My students were so excited to see the wobbly chairs and floor pad seats. \r\nI have a select few students who have difficulty staying in their seat without tipping over- just active kiddos. They have been using the chairs at their desks and having a lot of success at staying on task. They are more engaged in their iPad apps for learning, which is wonderful. Some of those students also choose a blue padded seat for the floor when we are doing independent work. Their work gets completed on time and in much better condition than they used to submit it. \r\nMy goal is for them to assimilate back into their regular chairs by the end of the year, but I won't have a problem letting them use these seating choices all year long.
