My students were struggling to understand the concept of the levels of organization. We have looked at lots of examples, virtual labs, and images online, but being able to show them true cells and tissues under the microscope made a huge difference!\r\n\r\nI experienced so many ah-ha momements when students truly connected the relationship between cells, tissues, and organs. By looking at an onion tissue under the microscopes you gifted us, students were able to get a clear picture of a real-word, authentic example. Students were amazed and made so many connections to the material we learned, not only in this unit but also our previous unit. The microscopes that were donated really helped solitify their understanding of cell structures of plants versus animals as well. \r\n\r\nIt is with our most sincerest gratitude that myself and my class thank you for making such authentic scientific experiences possible for students in our rural school. Being able to use microscopes that work as well as having enough equipment so students could spend more time at the microscopes made all the difference for our classroom. I will include some pictures of our most recent lab in my photo follow up so you can see all my wonderful scientists hard at work. It is so empowering for them to set a goal and accomplish it. Solving the cube seems impossible for some of them at the start. \r\n\r\nThere is no better look on a kids face, than when they solve the cube for the first time all on their own. It has been truly amazing. Now if I can get them to translate these successes into their other classes it will truly be a win.\r\n\r\nThank you again for providing this unique opportunity for my students to conquer a challenge.
