While this is a good skill for students to learn, at the third grade level they have trouble with putting the information into their own words and are usually unable to return to where they found the information originally. Having these books keeps the students from getting distracted with information that isn't in the realm of their research. \r\n\r\nThese books give students a tactile item with the information they need, we are able to add sticky notes for information they need to return to, and the books are written in easier language to understand than some of the information sites they may find online.\r\n\r\nThe students got so excited to explore the books and gain a deeper understanding of the natural disasters they have heard of in the past.
