Because of your generosity, my class was able to explore the journey of Lewis and Clark in a way that felt real to them—by using Minecraft to map out and document their own uncharted worlds. Instead of just reading about explorers, my students became explorers, walking through new landscapes, recording their discoveries, and truly understanding the challenges of mapping unknown territory. Seeing their excitement as they made connections between their own experiences and the historical journey of Lewis and Clark was incredible, and it would not have been possible without you.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I cannot wait to introduce the amusement park unit, which will combine engineering, problem-solving, and math in a fun and engaging way. The K'nex Roller Coaster and Ferris Wheel kits will give my students the opportunity to collaborate, build, and troubleshoot as they bring their creations to life—just as engineers do in the real world. Additionally, RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe will add an extra layer of learning, allowing students to apply math concepts in a meaningful way as they design and manage their own theme parks. Other classes that have used similar materials have absolutely loved the challenge, and I know my students will too! Your generosity has given them the chance to experience learning in a way that goes beyond worksheets, fostering curiosity, creativity, and real-world connections.
