Our focus this year is clear: to close the academic gap and help every student reach or exceed grade-level standards. To make this happen, we are providing focused small-group Response to Intervention (RTI) lessons for every student. These lessons are intensely personalized, which means they require hundreds of individualized activities and worksheets to be printed every week. Having enough paper, something so basic, was a real hindrance to meeting our ambitious goal this year. \r\n Success has begun to take shape. Your generosity directly translates into students getting the precise, immediate support they need to catch up and succeed. We just completed our middle-of-the-year school-wide assessment, and we made significant gains in closing the gap and moved our students towards grade-level proficiency! Helping students identify their feelings, understand how their bodies respond to different emotions, and realize that it is okay has been a work in progress, especially for lower elementary students.\r\n\r\nMost of the donated resources were snacks, and the students were very grateful for the variety provided. They came in during recess when they did not bring their own snack or when their teacher did not have any for them. They used their manners, asking politely, and ending with a \"Thank you!\" Developing these small skills—using their voice and manners—is impactful in developing the whole child.\r\n\r\nI want to continue providing snacks for students in the classroom, paired with a social-emotional lesson, during breaks when they need an extra boost, or when they arrive late and have missed breakfast. I would also like to identify books aligned with social-emotional topics to use when presenting an SEL topic, so students can connect with the characters they read about.","fullyFundedDate":1759234856647,"projectUrl":"project/sel-snacks-and-tools-grab-a-bite-get-i/9773000/","projectTitle":"SEL Snacks and Tools: Grab a Bite, Get It Right","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lori","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10293682"},{"teacherId":7707358,"projectId":9328948,"letterContent":"Our Peace Corner has given my students the opportunity to regulate their feelings and emotions without having anxieties during a confrontation or when they are having a hard time expressing their emotions or feelings.\r\nI am so grateful for the donations that you have provided for my students.
