Of course, they all wanted to sit in the new chairs. It was a bit of a challenge at first. We had to come up with a daily assignment schedule of who gets to sit on them. So, each day someone is assigned the orange, blue, or green chair. This has been a great way for the students to practice sharing and learning to wait their turn. \r\n\r\nThe beanbag chairs are definitely serving their primary purpose. That is to keep the children on the carpet and focused during learning time. Before, some of the children would constantly try to leave the carpet. However, now, we have noticed a big improvement. Even the biggest \"wanderers\" are staying put which really helps not only them learn, but also the other students because they are no longer being a distraction moving about the classroom. \r\n\r\nWe are very thankful for the generous donation to our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1762718893629,"projectUrl":"project/comfortable-beanbag-chairs-make-me-want/9885413/","projectTitle":"Comfortable Beanbag Chairs Make Me Want to Sit and Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Harrison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10346598"},{"teacherId":6829107,"projectId":8880704,"letterContent":"While we haven't used all of the STEM materials for physical science, my students especially loved making their own rubber band cars. The students first used the kit that I ordered in order to see what parts were necessary to create one. Then, with that background knowledge, the students created their own using various materials that I had in the classroom from previous projects.\r\n\r\nDuring the fourth quarter, the students will use roller coaster kit that you funded. I thought what I had ordered contained the frame for the roller coaster, but I was mistaken. Howevever, this turned out to my advantage. The students will be instructed to figure out how to make a frame for the roller coaster track using materials in the classroom. This will provide them the opportunity to think creatively, and participate in the engineering design process. By having the students do this, it helps me to meet my philosophy of having the students engage in hands-on learning of real-world situations.","fullyFundedDate":1729199700036,"projectUrl":"project/physically-stem-ing/8880704/","projectTitle":"Physically STEM-ing","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Yokote","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6829107_orig.jpg?crop=1925,1925,x574,y272&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667243281722","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6829107"},{"teacherId":471728,"projectId":7906555,"letterContent":"Mahalo nui loa for your incredible generosity in funding my project! They'll help my students bring stories to life, practice communication skills, and build confidence while having fun. These resources will make reading and learning feel like an adventure rather than just another assignment.\r\n\r\nYour support shows my students that there are people beyond our classroom who believe in them and want to see them succeed. That encouragement means more than I can ever put into words. Your donation allowed the students to type efficiently and easily. The students write essays weekly, and many of them expressed how much easier it was to type because they had a full keyboard to use. Otherwise, the students would need to move the mouse cursor to the correct menu bar options in order to locate the functions.\r\n\r\nThe compouters helped the students to keep themselves organized and raised the Chromebook screen to eye-level. This allowed the students to store books under the risers, which allowed to them to utilize the desk real estate with the needed to put things in their desks.
