Your donation of 3D printing supplies and an additional 3D printer has created meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, create, and explore STEM concepts to develop 21st century skills. We have seen students become more engaged, confident, and willing to take risks in their learning. \r\n\r\nTechnology is a powerful tool for problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking in the classroom. Through the use of our 3D printer, students are learning how to turn ideas into real objects by applying engineering, design, mathematics, and science concepts. Students brainstorm solutions, create digital models, test prototypes, and improve their designs through trial and error. This hands-on learning helps students build perseverance, collaboration skills, and confidence while making STEM concepts more engaging and understandable. \r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting parts of this technology for students is seeing their ideas come to life. Watching a design slowly print layer by layer captures their attention and sparks curiosity. Students are especially excited when they can create something original that solves a problem or represents their own creativity. Our STEM teacher worked with 4th graders on wind turbine designs during the 4th quarter. Students planned, designed, created, and tested their prototypes to see which designs allowed more wind energy output.\r\n\r\nThe state achievement test 3D-printed trophies we awarded to students this year have also become highly motivating for our students. Receiving recognition for their hard work encourages them to set goals, challenge themselves academically, and take pride in their accomplishments. Students were especially excited about the fidget design of the trophies and put greater effort into their learning in order to receive the recognition award at the end of the school year.\r\nYour generosity has helped create a learning environment where students feel inspired to innovate, achieve, and believe in their abilities. Thank you for investing in our students and helping prepare them with the skills, creativity, and confidence they will carry into the future.","fullyFundedDate":1771640227589,"projectUrl":"project/kes-fablab-expanding-hands-on-learning/10106893/","projectTitle":"KES FabLab: Expanding Hands-On Learning Through Our Digital Fabrication Lab","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Awa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9476207"},{"teacherId":9431018,"projectId":10110800,"letterContent":"Mahalo for the art supplies and sensory tools! When the boxes arrived, the excitement level of what awaited them was palpable. They couldn't wait to try out the new sensory tools, and to test the whisper phones. The art supplies were used to connect my students to our Hawaiian history and culture. The sensory tools created more opportunities for my students to use a tool to help them regulate as we didn't have enough prior to your donation. The donation of whisper phones directly impacted my students' self monitoring skills as they read. This allowed my students to make progress in their reading. \r\n\r\nWith your generous donation of art supplies, I was able to integrate art and social studies. Many of the students in my class are Native Hawaiian and live on Hawaiian Homestead so this past Kūhio day, we learned about Prince Kūhio and his contributions to Hawai'i. We demonstrated our learning using the pastels and paper to create a \"quilt\" for our classroom door that represented each student. This \"quilt\" exemplified Prince Kūhio's wise words of coming together to uplift our people. \r\n\r\nTo create this \"quilt\", each student used the pastels to blend the colors. They made beautiful shades of green on their 'ulu quilt prints. Each student traced and cut out their 'ulu quilts then brought them together to create a class quilt on our classroom door. \r\n\r\nMy students' upcoming PBL project in which they create their very own superhero gear with special animal adaptations will be brought to life using these same art supplies. \r\n\r\nMahalo piha for helping my students use art and other tools to demonstrate their understanding of their connection to Hawai'i and themselves.","fullyFundedDate":1771787358426,"projectUrl":"project/art-and-sensory-tools/10110800/","projectTitle":"Art and Sensory Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ferriman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9431018"},{"teacherId":9468721,"projectId":9781226,"letterContent":"It is with an abundance of gratitude that I send this letter of thank you. Our up-and- coming Art program here at Kapolei Elementary impacts over 650 students at our school.\r\nWe are from a low to middle income community and we do not have a big budget or even financial support from the community. So we depend on winning contest money and/or kind donors such as yourselves to thrive. This year, our selected \"Art Enrichment\" students (our top 90 out of 650 students) have once again created beautiful, individual projects for two Art exhibitions in our community. One show will be at our own Elementary School. The other is at our high school's 25th Anniversary celebration. Our students have been working diligently to produce unique art pieces to showcase their talents.\r\nWith a variety of art supplies provided by your funding- acrylic paint pens, watercolors, sharpies, polymer erasers, paper, crayons as well as tempera paint, color pencils from our own budget, the students have created art pieces that they are so proud of. Especially upon completion, when they see their artwork matted/framed, titled, and displayed, the students beam with pride. They are happy to represent our school well in the community. Thank you for seeing the importance of Art in our school and for supporting our efforts.\r\n(I have submitted photos of some of the completed projects. It has become a powerful learning tool for our students.\r\n\r\nIn the classroom, 3D printing transforms how students understand concepts. Instead of only reading about 3D models and prototypes, they are learning how to study measurement and design with precision while problem-solving. The technology strengthens critical thinking, spatial reasoning, collaboration, and perseverance. Student quickly learned that first attempts rarely work perfectly, and that iteration is part of innovation and learning with many attempts to get their designs right. We look forward to exploring more and perhaps design a tool to help organize materials or create assistive devices to support peers as we get more comfortable with 3D design and printing. \r\n\r\nWhat excites students the most is seeing their ideas come to life, being inventors and engineers of design. There is a visible shift in confidence when a student watches their digital design take physical form layer by layer. The 3D printer makes learning tangible and not only builds academic skills, but also confidence and pride. It also allows students who may not always shine in the traditional general education setting to thrive when given the opportunity to build and create using spatial sense and reasoning rather than just computational and academic skill and knowledge. \r\n\r\nYour support has expanded what learning looks like in our classroom. 3D printing supplies have allowed us to start moving beyond passive learning and into active creation. Our students are not just consuming technology, they are learning to use it thoughtfully, creatively, and responsibly in hopes of developing skills to apply in their future careers and the digital world.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in their growth and for helping turn imagination into reality.","fullyFundedDate":1759442998487,"projectUrl":"project/our-elementary-school-fablab-designing/9775625/","projectTitle":"Our Elementary School FabLab: Designing Tomorrow's Thinkers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Awa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9476207"},{"teacherId":9431019,"projectId":9776651,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our school store.
