Knowing that my students wouldn't go hungry at recess was such a relief. In prior years the school is a title I school and most students suffer from poverty, broken household, homelessness, etc. Not only on this island but across our states in our country. Projects like this allows all grade level students to participate and the necessary supplies to feel great, perform great, and have a sense of belonging to their peers, teachers, and staff at Kapaa Elementary School. \r\n\r\nPart of this project was to bring diversity into one performance. All students regardless their background celebrated community culture, state culture and the feeling of Aloha spirit.
