Thanks to your donations, our students received a wonderful collection of new art supplies, including polymer clay and \"how to draw\" books that have truly transformed our creative space.\r\nThe polymer clay, especially, was a huge hit! We recently completed a project where students designed and sculpted miniature food magnets: tiny burgers, sushi, shave ice, and other local treats. Watching their ideas come to life through sculpting, baking, and assembling the magnets was pure joy. Students were proud to take ownership of their work and share it with classmates, and it sparked so many creative conversations about color, form, and local foods that represent Hawai'i.\r\nFor students who finish early, the \"how to draw\" books have been an inspiring addition. They love flipping through the pages, challenging themselves to learn new drawing techniques, and using what they learn in their own art. It's created a calm, creative flow in the classroom where everyone always has something meaningful to work on.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be exploring a unit on cultural symbolism and wearable art, where students will use their skills to design personal or Hawaiian-inspired pieces.
