I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for your generosity in funding our new classroom carpet. The transformation is remarkable, and the impact of my students has been immediate and heartwarming before classroom floor was a stark uninviting space now it's a cozy welcoming area where students love to gather sit and learn their faces light up as they settle in finding their spots on the brightly colored circles that make it much easier for them to know exactly where to sit. The simple edition has created a sense of order and belonging making our morning meetings and group lessons, a joyful and seamless experience. \r\n\r\nThis new carpet is more than just a place to sit. It's a foundation for a richer more comfortable learning environment. My students now have a soft clean space to play games read books and engage in collaborative activities. The carpet provides a central hub for our class a place where we can all come together comfortably for read aloud and lessons at the whiteboard, seeing them spread out with their materials, laying on their stomachs to read or simply relaxing to listen to his story is truly a pleasure. We at Mountain View Elementary School have been striving to assist more families in making school a priority. With the new portable sound systems, bubble wands, and other supplies, our students were able to have weekly celebrations for having their homeroom reach our school's goal of having 90% attending students.\r\n With the close of this 24-25 school year, we increased our attendance rate from 82% to 87% attending regularly. Our families assisted each other with carpooling during our bus driver shortage more than in previous years. I believe that making school a little more fun, having mini celebrations and recognizing small improvements, is how to get our students excited about coming to school. When our students go home and tell their parents that they had a Dance Party, a Karaoke Class Session, and a Bubble Fun, parents are left smiling with wonderment but happy that they are not fighting their child to go to school. It made my day to here a parent tell me that their child scolded them for not getting them to school when an absence happened. When they are done with their book work, they get to take that knowledge and apply it to trying to solve the Rubik's puzzles, Jenga game, and card games. They get to apply their geometry, physics, and probability knowledge to solve hand-held problems.\r\n\r\nSo far my students have begun to use our photo studio equipment to take photos and video. My plan is to have them brainstorm their own video projects, film their own media, and edit and add effects to make their own movies.
