At the end of the school year, my students will use the donated supplies to transform our classroom into a hospital as part of an immersive math review experience to prepare for our state testing. They will become doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff while working through real-world math challenges involving problem solving, computation, measurement, and data.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first see the hospital materials, I know their faces will light up! They will be excited to see our classroom transformed into something completely different from our everyday learning environment. The gloves, masks, gowns, and other supplies will help make the experience feel real and give students a fun reason to stay engaged while reviewing important math skills.\r\n\r\nAs we move closer to state testing, students will work through different \"patient cases\" and hospital challenges that will require them to use the math skills they have learned throughout the year, explain their thinking, and work collaboratively. My goal will be to make test preparation feel exciting and meaningful rather than stressful. These donated resources will help create an engaging experience that students will remember while giving them an opportunity to practice and apply their learning in a hands-on way.
