Having access to snacks during class has helped students stay energized, focused, and more engaged in their reading and writing tasks.\r\n\r\nIn ELA, we're working on building reading stamina and improving writing fluency. With snacks available, students are better able to settle in and concentrate on their work. During a recent \"sustained silent reading\" session, I noticed students were not only reading longer but discussing their books more deeply afterward.
