Every year teachers have to dip into their pockets to help supply their classrooms. When we think about school supplies, we think about the regular items such as pencil, pens, books etc. Supplies have become more than that. Some units required hands on delivery to assist students to better understand the content. Teachers have to get creative. Teaching money management with skittles or with props can helps students to grasps the concept better. Real life materials. These donations allow us to purchase these creative supplies. \r\n\r\nA science class might want to purchase some baking soda and soda to bring a lesson to life. These are other supplies we need for our classrooms. Donations help us to purchase supplies to reward students for their hard work and dedication. My students were super excited to receive snacks during their brain break. We do alot of tough coding. Sometimes students struggle to compute their answer. When they take a break from their learning and come back to it, it makes it much easier for them to process information computationally. During this break we have a snack, play music...we do anything we can to NOT think about our work. During this break students are able to allow their creative juices to flow, return to the problem and use critical thinking to solve it.\r\n\r\nIn order to ensure successful experiences, I continue to involve local business, industrial, and community supporters.
