The microscope and microscope kit have opened a microscopic world that many students had never seen before. They've been captivated examining soil samples and leaf structures from our pollination garden, making detailed observations and comparisons. The Rapitest Digital Soil Thermometer and pH Tester have empowered students to collect real-time data on our garden's health, leading to rich discussions about soil quality and plant needs. The measuring wheel has been essential in our math-integrated projects—students are using it to map areas of our outdoor walking trail. And the pollination wands are giving students the chance to take on the role of pollinators, helping them understand the vital connections between plants and pollinators firsthand.\r\n\r\nOne powerful moment came during a recent experiment when a student discovered tiny soil-dwelling organisms through the microscope and exclaimed, \"It's like a hidden world down there!\" That sense of wonder has sparked deeper inquiry. Currently, students are working on a project to determine which garden bed has the healthiest conditions for new native plants. Using all the tools—testing pH, measuring light and space, and documenting findings—they're drawing conclusions about what plants need to thrive. Next, students will present their findings and propose data-driven recommendations for improving our garden.
