The students are so excited to be able to imagine and create with these supplies. Ceramic glazing is unlike painting in that what you see is not necessarily what you get so we have had fun experimenting with different layering techniques and combinations. Our art class has turned into somewhat of a science class as a result. The ability to experiment has increased overall engagement and desire to continue in creative pursuits. \r\n\r\nWe have an upcoming Evening of Excellence where select students will be able to showcase their making skills and will display their finished pieces. Later we will have our winter art exhibit and more students will present their work from the semester. In the coming semester we hope to be able to host student-led workshops to increase interest in the ceramic program and continued funding. The students have been using the scissors, paper towels, paint brushes, and paper to create beautiful artwork. Additionally, the dry erase markers have been a great addition for collaborative work on whiteboards.\r\n\r\nOne memorable project was when the students in Fashion Design had an in progress critique. Each student posted their work and were voting on the best of each student. \r\n\r\nThe students were overjoyed when they first saw the new materials. There were lots of excited chatter and immediate brainstorming of what they could create. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and eagerness to start working on their projects and using the dry erase markers for various activities.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be using the materials to create individual art portfolios. Each student will have the opportunity to showcase their work and reflect on their artistic journey. Additionally, we'll continue to use the dry erase markers for interactive lessons, encouraging students to participate more actively and collaborate with their peers.","fullyFundedDate":1733258921965,"projectUrl":"project/ms-michael-essentials/8557868/","projectTitle":"Ms. Michael Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Michael","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3240237_orig.jpg?crop=1296,1296,x172,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722961430195","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3240237"},{"teacherId":8919073,"projectId":8931319,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our classroom project. Your contribution has made a significant impact on the learning environment for my high school English Language Learners (ELLs).\r\n\r\nWith your help, we have been able to acquire essential classroom supplies and resources that create a more welcoming, organized, and engaging environment. The drawer cart has provided much-needed organization, allowing students easy access to paper, pencils, and other materials essential for their success. The selection of fidget toys and prizes has motivated students to participate and stay focused, making learning both fun and rewarding. Additionally, the ample paper supplies ensure that students can work on projects, complete assignments, and express themselves creatively without the worry of running out of basic supplies.\r\n\r\nMy students are an inspiring group of newcomers, eager to learn English and adapt to a new culture and educational system. They bring diverse experiences, languages, and cultures that enrich our classroom, creating a vibrant and supportive learning community. Despite facing challenges, they show tremendous resilience, curiosity, and motivation to succeed. Your support has provided them with the tools and encouragement they need to continue thriving and pursuing their educational goals.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and for believing in the potential of my students. Your support has made a lasting difference in their educational journey, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1731285003346,"projectUrl":"project/esol-classroom-needs/8931319/","projectTitle":"ESOL Classroom Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ellard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8919073_orig.png?crop=520,520,x0,y105&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673286440057","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8919073"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_74973","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2024,"numTeachers":124,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":28,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":82.5,"schoolId":74973,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Alpharetta High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Alpharetta High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/fulton-county-school-district/alpharetta-high-school/74973"}
