Thanks to all the kindhearted donors, now students at Druid Hills High School have the opportunity to explore one of the important techniques in molecular biology. \r\n\r\nStudents were engaged in the technique they read in the textbooks and enjoyed practicing micropipette skills. That is the first step in the inquiry-based learning process, as they have to perfectly load the DNA samples in the gel. Students could visualize the DNA sample migrating through the gel as bands. As it was their first time seeing DNA, they were curious and left in awe once the bands started appearing. They made the connection that bands are in relation to the size and charge of the molecules. It sparked questions, discussions, and a deeper understanding of genetics and biotechnology. \r\n\r\nYour donation opened the doors for students to experience real-world science, preparing them for future studies, and careers in STEM fields. All my students learned by doing, experimenting, and discovering what is needed. \r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my vision and providing hands-on science experience to my students.
