Instead of being a self-contained class, my group of students traveled to 3 different classrooms throughout the day, leaving me with 63 students altogether. The supplies that you donated have been such a relief to not have to stress over! The glue, scissors, crayons, and colored pencils have been a life-saver for teaching social studies and science already! I know I will get so much use out of them all year!\r\n\r\nIn addition to social studies and science, I am also teaching reading and writing! So, the reading books and reading corner items are being used in a big way, by way more students! They love to sit in the corner and read on a cushion or use it on the carpet to write at a temporary desk. This is a privilege they earn and it is a joy for them. The books are perfect as they are lower level books, but ones they can read for their Accelerated Reader points or read for enjoyment.\r\n\r\nAll of that said, my students and I are so incredibly grateful for your generosity and how you have shown unmerited favor to us this school year! You have made my first year less stressful by allowing me to have the supplies and a successful reading corner that I need for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1759693637042,"projectUrl":"project/first-year-teacher/9505510/","projectTitle":"First Year Teacher!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Landreth","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10096514"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68218","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":454,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":26,"percentWhite":52,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.7,"schoolId":68218,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/camden-county-school-district/mamie-lou-gross-elementary-school/68218"}
