The students were so excited when the Amazon packages arrived. They could not wait to see what was inside.\r\n The comfy seat cushions were an instant hit. They immediately headed towards the reading center with them. They enjoyed sitting on them while reading. The bright colors help brighten up the area as well. As a bonus, we sit on them during small group instruction time as well.\r\n The other literacy supplies thrilled the students as well. They could not wait to get a writing journal \"like the big kids\" during guided reading to record their responses. Who doesn't love new Expo dry erase markers that work and erase easily on a board without leaving streaks. Word study is definitely easier and cleaner. Lastly, the headphones were a big hit. Students did not have to fidget with chords that short out and speakers that only work on one side. One student even stated that the headphones are \"cool colors and not all black.\"\r\n Again I want to thank you so much for your generous donation that helped update my classroom. The addition of this equipment has allowed our team to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of the game through more advanced and varied drills. For example, using the new training aids, we implemented a precision passing drill that focuses on developing accuracy and quick decision-making under pressure—critical skills for success on the court.\r\n\r\nThe students' initial reaction to the equipment was one of pure excitement. Many expressed amazement, with some commenting that they felt like they were training in a professional environment. This enthusiasm translated into a noticeable boost in their motivation and engagement during practices.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are using the equipment to prepare for upcoming tournaments, focusing on improving our defensive footwork and shooting accuracy. The team's development has been remarkable; the boys are not only more confident in their abilities but are also demonstrating a stronger sense of discipline and teamwork.\r\n\r\nAs we continue this journey, our next steps include leveraging the equipment to work on advanced game strategies and creating scenarios that simulate real-game conditions. This will prepare the team to compete at a higher level and foster their growth both as athletes and as individuals.\r\n\r\nThe support from our donors has made a lasting impact, giving our players the tools they need to succeed and inspiring them to strive for excellence. We are deeply grateful for the investment in our program and look forward to sharing more of our achievements in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1726358377207,"projectUrl":"project/rise-to-glory-the-unstoppable-journey-o/8656772/","projectTitle":"Rise to Glory: The Unstoppable Journey of Our Basketball Team","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Houston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9616480_orig.jpg?crop=420,420,x0,y137&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723421721509","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9616480"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47835","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":647,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":57,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":68.9,"schoolId":47835,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Langston Chapel Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Langston Chapel Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/bulloch-county-school-district/langston-chapel-elementary-school/47835"}
