It has quickly become the heart of our classroom—a cozy, welcoming space where we gather for morning meetings, story time, collaborative learning, and more. The vibrant colors and clear organization help create a structured, calm environment that promotes focus and a sense of belonging.\r\n\r\nThe donut sensory seats have been a huge hit as well! For my students who need a little movement or extra sensory input to stay regulated and engaged, these seats have made a noticeable difference. I've seen improved concentration, fewer disruptions, and happier, more comfortable learners.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my classroom now feels even more like a home—one that supports every child's unique learning needs and encourages them to thrive.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart (and on behalf of 16 very grateful students), **thank you** for making a lasting impact!","fullyFundedDate":1746786212297,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-meets-focus-a-sensory-friendly/9288608/","projectTitle":"Comfort Meets Focus: A Sensory-Friendly Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Beatty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5137351_orig.jpg?crop=1169,1170,x0,y50&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699109432694","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5137351"},{"teacherId":5137351,"projectId":9218317,"letterContent":"Wow — what a magical transformation! Thanks to your generous support, our classroom was turned into not just one, but two incredible learning adventures: a Donut Shop and a Camping in the Classroom experience!\r\nWhen students walked into our \"Donut Shop\" classroom, their faces lit up with excitement. With colorful décor, themed activities, and even donut-themed math and reading centers, the room felt like a delicious world of learning. Students were \"taking orders\" in math, \"sprinkling\" in new vocabulary, and rotating through sweet challenges — all while fully immersed in the fun of the theme.\r\nLater, we transformed again — this time into the great outdoors! Our \"Camping Day\" came complete with tents, faux campfires, flashlights, and the sounds of nature in the background. Students read books under their \"tent\", wrote stories by lantern light, and practiced problem-solving during \"campfire challenges.\" It was imaginative, engaging, and packed with learning.\r\nThese room transformations created memories that will last a lifetime. Students were focused, enthusiastic, and deeply involved in hands-on, standards-based learning — all while believing they were just having fun.\r\nYour donation didn't just buy materials — it ignited creativity, encouraged collaboration, and brought joy to our classroom. I've been able to set up our space with intention—everything now has a place, which will help create a calm, structured environment for my students. Technology has become a huge part of education, but sometimes it's great to disconnect from the devices. The tonies box allows the technology factor without the screen-and the impact is irreplaceable. Students love hearing the sound effects and story characters that they can relate to. This is great for my visual learners because hearing the story in a different format allows them to visualize inside their head what the story is about.
