One of the most exciting moments was when students began layering colors and experimenting with shading to make their artwork pop. The new supplies have allowed them to slow down, focus on details, and express their creativity in ways that weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nTheir faces immediately lit up when they saw all the new colors and tools available to them. Many of them couldn't wait to get started, and several commented on how \"professional\" their work felt now that they had access to high-quality materials. It gave them a real boost.\r\n\r\nRight now, the next step is for students to continue refining their projects by adding layers of detail and experimenting with color combinations. They're learning how to use these new tools to create depth and emotion in their work, and soon we'll be pulling everything together for a classroom showcase so they can share their progress and creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1750773706106,"projectUrl":"project/real-world/9388304/","projectTitle":"Real World","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bolt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10047347_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750207290176","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10047347"},{"teacherId":3701455,"projectId":9068576,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for the support of our donors and from Donor's Choose. Because of this organization and our donors, my students have been able to benefit from items that we would either not have or that I would have had to pay for out of my own pocket. We have so many needs and only so much budget money from the school. Our donors have given my students the advantage of a much larger budget. \r\n\r\nThis year, students added requests for tide pens and razors to use on performance dates, when costumes get last minute stains or students forget their own at home. Hair ties, wig bands, combs, hairspray, tissues, feminine products, and band-aids will be used daily for both class and for performances when students have forgotten or need the item. The paper towels and vacuum cleaner will help us keep our dance room and dressing room clean! The silver sharpies are for putting names on dark items, especially black jazz and tap shoes. \r\n\r\nWe will be using all these items in class and in our performance in March. The Hayiya presentation included the history of African dance, a dance warm-up, across-the-floor, and a complete dance along with a discussion of its ritual purpose. Finally, students had the opportunity to work in groups to manipulate the choreography they learned, deepening their understanding.\r\n\r\nBeyond educational impact, the class also had a profound impact on my student's love for dance. Students smiled the entire class, were drenched in sweat by the end and were already asking for more African classes! Giving them the opportunity to try a new dance style from an expert teacher truly made a huge difference in my student's lives. Seeing students excited about anything educational is a great pleasure as a teacher.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your support- I will be asking for Donor's Choose to help me repeat this project in the future!","fullyFundedDate":1733253512255,"projectUrl":"project/ashay-african-dance-class/8941912/","projectTitle":"Ashay!
